The Practice

Nothing here is repaired.

Aron Noka is a visual artist from Albania, based in Tirana, where he works from his own studio. Since 2021 his practice has been built around a single, irreversible act: breaking glass, and finding the portrait inside the break.

Each piece begins as an intact pane. The cracks are not applied afterward and they are not corrected. They are the drawing. Up close it is only broken glass; step back, and the fractures resolve into a face.

The result sits somewhere between sculpture and photograph: fragile by material, permanent by intention.

He studied at the Liceu Artistik in Tirana, and holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Scenography and Costume Design from the Academy of Arts, Tirana.

February 2026 Galeria FAB · Universiteti i Arteve, Tiranë Two-person show with Aron Noka & Kevin Jaku

A two-person exhibition built around the theme of mines (miniera) and what is extracted, broken, and left behind. The glass fracture portraits were shown alongside industrial installation: suspended panes, chains, and raw ore, staging the act of breaking as both violence and excavation.
